In spite of gale force winds yesterday - which prevented us from going up Table Mountain - and a continued forecast for more of the same throughout our time in Cape Town, we awoke this morning to a beautiful sunny day and only moderate winds. The infamous Table Cloth was over the mountain, but we decided to head for the cable car and see if it might be running. It was! We were on the first car up at 8:00 and it was magical. While on top, the Table Cloth (fast-moving fog) came and went around us, leaving us intermittently with vast panoramas and then a silent, damp world.
From there we headed South along the Cape, enjoying Chapman's Peak Drive, and the Cape of Good Hope. On the way back we went to Boulder's Beach for the penguins (lots of them!)

Arachnid Artistry
Erika grows in many forms on the mountain.
A white rainbow! Whenever we had clear air between us and the sun, and heavy fog on the side away from the sun, we could distinctly see a white rainbow in the fog. A first for me!
